Malayalam mega star Mammootty and Fahadh Faasil had shared screen space in a couple of films such as Pramani and Immanuel in the past. Now there is a possibility that they may team up again. Reports say that both the actors are in talks to star in Bilal, the sequel to Big B. Directed by Amal Neerad, Big B was a hit movie that featured a bevy of stars, including Nafisa Ali, Manoj K Jayan, Pauspathy and Bala. Big B was penned by Amal Neerad along with Unni R. According to reports, the sequel will go on the floors later this year.

Unni R in association with Suhas and Sharfu of Varathan fame will be penning the script for Bilal. Sources in the know say that the team had already discussed Bilal with Mammootty and are waiting for his final nod. Catherine Tresa has been roped in to play the female lead in this sequel.

Interestingly, Mammootty and Fahadh Faasil will be clashing at the box office this April with their respective films, Madhura Raja and Athiran, scheduled for a Vishu release.

Madhura Raja, directed by Vyasakh, is touted to be an action entertainer. The technical crew of the film includes Gopi Sunder for music, Shaji Kumar for cinematography and John Kutty for editing. The rest of the star cast includes Siddique, Aju Varghese, Anna Rajan, Anusree, Nedumudi Venu, Vijayaraghavan, Salim Kumar, Dharmajan Bolgatty, Bala, Bijukuttan and Manikuttan. Sunny Leone has been roped in for a special dance sequence. The film is bankrolled by Nelson Ipe under his banner on a big budget.

Touted to be psychological thriller, Fahadh’s Athiran is set in a hospital in Ooty. It has Fahadh playing a doctor with Sai Pallavi as the female lead. Prakash Raj appears in a pivotal role in this flick with Atul Kulkarni as a part of the star cast as well. Athiran is directed by debutant Vivek.
