Basking in the glory over his latest film release Bharat Ane Nenu directed by Koratala Siva, Mahesh Babu is currently shooting for his 25th Film titled Maharshi which is being helmed by Vamshi Paidipally.
Meantime, there were reports surfacing that Mahesh Babu will team up with Director Sukumar for his next after Maharshi which will be bankrolled by Mythri Movie Makers. Now we hear that this will be a high budgeted period film which will be based on a novel.
Recently, Sukumar narrated the script to Mahesh Babu. He has given his nod too and has told to work on the characterisation. Sources say the film might be on the lines of Telangana warriors who fought against the Nizams in the 1900s.
Previously Mahesh Babu and Sukumar teamed up for Nenokkadine in 2014. In spite of good word of mouth, the film received a mixed response at the box office. Both are teaming up after a gap of three years.
Mahesh Babu's 25th film Maharshi is being bankrolled by Dil Raju, Ashwini Dutt and PVP. Currently the crew is camping for a long schedule of the upcoming film in the United States where the team will be shooting important scenes. Various locations in different cities across the country have been earmarked for the shooting. Pooja Hegde and Allari Naresh will appear in key roles.
Sukumar's last outing Rangasthalam, starring Ram Charan Teja and Samantha Akkineni as the lead pair, released in March this year and has turned out to be a massive hit. The film has joined the 100 crore club. While Ram Charan and Samantha played the lead pair in it, the star cast also included Jagapati Babu, Aadhi Pinisetty, Anasuya Bharadwaj, Naresh, Rohini, and Prakash Raj.
