Mahesh Babu’s upcoming film Bharat Ane Nenu is gearing up for a summer release and the film’s shooting has reached the final stages.

Sources say that Star Maa TV has offered a huge package for the Telugu and Hindi satellite rights and the deal is yet to be inked. We hear that the channel has offered a staggering Rs. 23 crores for the Telugu version while the Hindi version has been offered Rs. 16 crores. However, the deal is expected to be sealed in a couple of days.

Directed by Koratala Siva, Barath Ane Nenu is touted to be a political thriller that has Mahesh Babu playing the Chief Minister for the first time in his career. Though the film is based on politics, it would have lighter moments loaded with comedy, say sources.

A complete family entertainer, Barath Ane Nenu has Kiara Advani playing the female lead with Rama Prabha, R. Sarathkumar, Prakash Raj, Devaraj, Aamani and Sithara in pivotal roles.

The technical crew of this political thriller include Devi Sri Prasad for music and A Sreekar Prasad for editing. Earlier, Ravi K Chandran was roped in to wield the camera for the film but he walked out of the project half-way through citing personal reasons following which Thiru was brought onboard.

Incidentally, Thiru had worked with Koratala Siva in the Jr NTR – Mohanlal starrer Janatha Garage. It may be noted here that despite Mahesh Babu not tasting immense success at the box office in the recent times, expectations are high on Barath Ane Nenu as the hero is teaming up with director Koratala Siva after the massive success of Srimanthudu.

Produced by DVV Dhanayya under his banner DVV Entertainments, the film is slated for release on April 27th worldwide.
