Tollywood star Mahesh Babu’s next film will be Maharshi. The film is gearing up for release on April 25 and the team is busy trying to meet this deadline. With this film’s release date set, Mahesh Babu is looking forward to move over to his next project. Reports are that the film will be directed by Anil Ravipudi of F2: Fun and Frustration fame. The shooting of the untitled film is likely to begin in May this year and the preparation work for it is already on. Dil Raju and Anil Sunkara will be producing the film under the banner of Sri Venkateswara Creations and 14 Reels Entertainment, respectively. Official announcement pertaining to the film’s heroine and rest of the star cast and crew are expected to be out soon.

Meanwhile, Maharshi is a high budget project directed by Vamsi Paidapally with a major portion of it being shot in the United States. The film is about three friends played by Mahesh Babu, Allari Naresh and Pooja Hegde. It also has veteran actor Jayapradha playing a pivotal role.

Maharshi is being produced jointly by Dil Raju, C. Ashwini Dutt and Prasad V. Potluri under the banners Sri Venkateswara Creations, Vyjayanthi Movies and PVP Cinema. The technical crew of this film includes Devi Sri Prasad as its music composer, KU Mohanan as the cinematographer and Praveen KL as the editor.

Mahesh Babu was supposed to team up with director Sukumar after Maharshi but the project failed to take off for certain reasons. Following this, Anil Ravipudi was brought onboard due to the massive success of his last film F2: Fun and Frustration. Venkatesh and Varun Tej played the heroes in this film with Tammannah Bhatia and Mehreen Pirzada as their female leads. F2 reached the Rs 100-crore club making it a massive success.
