It is well known that the real life couple Arya and Sayyesha are set to reunite for upcoming children’s comedy Teddy directed by Shakti Soundar Rajan of Miruthan and Tik Tik Tik fame. An update about this film is that director Magizh Thirumeni will be seen in an important role in it and scenes involving him were recently wrapped up.

Interestingly, this will mark the director’s acting debut. Confirming this, Teddy’s director Shakthi Sounder Rajan wrote on Twitter: “#MagizhThirumeni has completed shooting for #Teddy!! Happy to launch his acting debut! Watch out for him.”

Magizh's last directorial venture was Thadam. He is also playing the antagonist in the Vijay Sethupathi's Yaadhum Oore Yaavarum Kelir. Magizh will complete shooting for this project and then commence work on his next directorial.

Director Shakthi Soundar made his debut with Naanayam in 2010 and went on to direct Naaigal Jaakirathai in 2014. In 2016, he came up with Miruthan, the first-ever zombie thriller in the Tamil cinema industry. The film turned out to be a hit. Tik Tik Tik, which he had directed, was the first-ever space film in the Indian cinema.

Reports are that a major portion of the film has been shot in Chennai and in some exotic locations in Europe. There are rumors that the film could be a remake of Hollywood’s hit comedy Ted starring Mark Wahlberg and Mila Kunis.

Arya and Sayyeshaa, who had previously worked together in Gajinikanth were last seen in the Suriya starrer Kaappaan. Directed by KV Anand, the film also had the Malayalam superstar Mohanlal in a pivotal role. Harris Jayaraj was the music composer for this flick with Abhinandan Ramanujam roped in as the cinematographer and editing done by Anthony.
