The decision has had the entire team swing into action immediately with the promos beginning instantaneously.

Mersal is a complete action entertainer that has Vijay in three different roles. Pairing up with him in the film are Kajal Aggarwal, Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Nithya Menen and the rest of the star cast include S. J. Surya, Vadivelu, Sathyaraj, Kovai Sarala, Rajendran, Sathyan, Misha Ghoshal, Yogi Babu, Hareesh Peradi and Cheenu Mohan.

The story of Mersal has been penned jointly by Atlee and Baahubali fame K. V. Vijayendra Prasad. The dialogues are by Atlee and S. Ramana Girivasan and screenplay by Atlee, K. V. Vijayendra Prasad and S. Ramana Girivasan.

Oscar winning music composer AR Rahman has set the tunes. GK Vishnu has cranked the camera and Ruben has edited Mersal. Made on a humongous budget of Rs. 130 crores, the film has been bankrolled by N. Ramasamy, Hema Rukmani, R. Mahendran and H. Murali under the banner Thenandal Studio Limited.

It may be mentioned here that Mersal will be screened at the prestigious Grand Rex Cinemas in Paris, the largest cinema hall in Europe, that has a seating capacity of over 2,000 seats.

So far, two Tamil films - Kabali and Baahubali 2 – have been screened there and Mersal would be the third to join the prestigious club. With all legal hurdles crossed, the team is getting ready for the release.
