In what comes as no surprise to observers of Tamil Nadu's political developments, two known faces from the movie industry have already joined superstar Rajinikanth in his efforts to create a 'political revolution'.
Producer Raju Mahalingam of Lyca Productions who has been closely associated with Rajinikanth over the last three years, was the first to join the actor's political movement. Following this was actor Raghava Lawrence, who is known to be a huge supporter of 'Thalaivar' and a devotee of Sri Raghavendra.

“I have worked with Mr. Rajinikanth for the last three years and I was attracted to his personality and vision. So I decided to join his journey."
Speaking to TNM, Raghava Lawrence, who'd tweeted that he's ready to become Rajini's 'kaavalan' or 'guard' said that he will make the official announcement on January 7 in Madurai.
Apart from being a Rajini fan, Lawrence is also a devotee of Raghavendra and has even built a temple for him.
Asked if he's joining Rajini's political party, Lawrence said he will reveal his plans only on the 7th. He further added that he's happy Rajini has joined politics but that he's unwilling to make any other comment till he makes an official announcement.
On December 31, Lawrence had tweeted his support for Rajini's political entry, saying, "From now on, let's think good, speak good, do good and good will happen."
Meanwhile, Raju Mahalingam has resigned from his position as Creative Head of Lyca merely three days after Rajinikanth's announcement on his political plunge. On January 1, his Twitter page carried a picture with Rajinikanth with the caption, 'A new political will - a new year awaits for the people of Tamil Nadu. '
Speaking to India Today Raju Mahalingam said, "Firstly, I'm a fan of Rajinikanth sir since my childhood. Also, during the production of 2.0, I've watched him closely for three years. He is known for his simplicity, honesty and straight-forwardness. I think that is the need of the hour for the political scenario that is prevailing in Tamil Nadu at present. So, when Rajini sir announced his decision to form a political party, I decided to join his political journey."
Raju Mahalingam was the creative head of Lyca Productions, which is owned by Subaskaran Allirajah. Raju had been associated with Lyca since its inception in 2014. He further revealed that he holds no position in the party as of now. "No, right now, I do not hold any position. I have registered just as a party member," he has reportedly said.
