Sitata keeps your travels worry-free. They use advanced software to monitor global news and social media for travel disruptions and can warn you about a flight delay, violent protest, disease outbreak, transit strike, or just about anything else that might ruin your business travel or holidays.

Sitata is one of the nine startups that are in India for the T-Hub Indo-Canada bridge program.

Sitata was founded by Dr. Ronald St. John, a world renowned leader in the field of public health and emergency preparedness. Ron spent more than 35 years in the world of public health, consulted for various international governments and the World Health Organization, and retired as Canada's first Director of Emergency Preparedness for the country. During his tenure at Health Canada, Ron led a team to create a little-known program called the Global Public Health Intelligence Network (GPHIN). GPHIN revolutionized the public health sector as it was the world's first automated, digital disease surveillance system. Not soon after its launch, GPHIN was noted for its ability to detect the emerging SARS epidemic in 2002.

Sitata has taken the lessons learned from GPHIN and expanded upon them. They leverage the latest computer algorithms to detect not only disease outbreaks, but also safety concerns and anything else that might disrupt someone's travels, all at a much faster pace and broader coverage level than other sources.

Today, Sitata's team consists of seasoned travel industry executives and technology experts. They have more than 100 years of combined expertise across the travel insurance and assistance industries.

Sitata is extremely excited about the Indian market. Sitata CEO Adam St. John said, “India is the second fastest growing outbound travel market and is on pace to more than double its outbound tourists by 2020. Already, we have seen inbound requests for our services within the travel sector in India and we strongly believe demand will continue to grow. We've committed significant resources to invest in India in the long-term and we expect strong partnerships with leading brands across the country.

Sitata has issue proposals for two large financial institutions and several travel agencies. We look forward to building our local operations and team within India. It should prove to be an exciting year ahead.

Sitata embeds its services with large brands such as travel insurers or credit card issuers that want to differentiate and add additional value to their product offerings. In 2019, Sitata will launch a premium mobile application which will include a travel insurance offering and advanced assistance capabilities so that you will be able to connect with someone who speaks your language when you need help abroad.

On working with T-Hub, Adam St. John said, “T-Hub was an absolutely essential partner when considering the Indian market. Their vast network and knowledge of the ecosystem significantly reduced our time to market within the country. What would normally take us upwards of 12 months was reduced to two. Working with their team has been an absolute pleasure and a fantastic experience.”
