In a tragic road accident in Chennai-Bengaluru highway, at least 13 people were killed and another 23 were injured in Tamil Nadu’s Krishnagiri district on Friday afternoon.
At 3 pm at Melumalai, an Erode-bound speeding truck lost control apparently after one of its tyre got punctured and flipped over to collide with a bus travelling towards Karnataka on the other side of the highway. As the bus came to halt, a car which was on the tails of the bus hit the bus resulting in more casualties.
Kannan, DSP, Krishnagiri, told The News Minute, "About 13 people died in the accident and 23 have been admitted to the Krishnagiri government hospital. The traffic is moving smoothly there now. Both the truck and bus drivers have died so there is no one to be arrested."
