Velaikkaran, to release on December 22, is one of the most anticipated films of the year. For one, it has Siva Karthikeyan and Nayanthara pairing up for the first time and the star cast also includes the Malayalam star Fahadh Faasil making his debut in the Tamil film industry.

During a promo event in Kerala, Siva Karthikeyan heaped praises on his co-stars Fahadh Faasil and Nayanthara which proves that he thoroughly enjoyed working with them. Siva Karthikeyan, speaking at the event, said that he bonded well with Fahadh on the sets.

During a press meet held there recently, Sivakarthikeyan said, “I have learnt a lot, especially from brother Fahadh Faasil. You all would have seen his work in Malayalam, but his role in Velaikkaran is something that he hasn’t done before. Initially, I wondered how I would measure up to him, but Raja had written the characters and the scenes so beautifully that I feel I have done justice to the role.”

On his lead pair Nayanthara, Siva said that she has evolved as an actor through these years and aspiring young woman actors should take her up as the role model. He lauded her for taking women-centric films to a new level.

Velaikkaran, written and directed by Mohan Raja, is bankrolled by RD Raja under his banner 24AM Studios. The film’s technical crew includes Anirudh Ravichander for music, Ramji for cinematography and Ruben and Vivek Harshan for editing.

The star cast of the film includes Sivakarthikeyan, Nayanthara and Fahadh Faasil in the lead roles with Prakash Raj, Sneha, RJ Balaji, Sathish, Vinodhini Vaidyanathan and Robo Shankar in supporting roles.

Touted to be an action thriller, reports are that Velaikkaran is based on food adulteration and the lead star’s fight against it.
