Kunchacko Boban-starrer Mangalyam Thanthunanena is gearing up for release on September 20th this year and its audio launch is scheduled to happen on September 6th. The Times of India had quoted the director of the film as stating, “The film's audio launch is on September 6 and soon after, the songs should be out. It is a family fun entertainer.” From the posters of the film that were released recently, it appears that Mangalyam Thanthunanena would be a complete family entertainer and a laugh riot. 

Kunchacko plays the lead role in the film, directed by Soumya Sadanandan. The film is currently in the post production phase. It may be noted here that the director has won a special jury award at the 64th National Film Awards and the Best Documentary award at the Allahabad International Film Festival for her documentary Chembai: My discovery of a legend

Sowmya has worked as an assistant and associate director before. She has also acted in films like Ormayundo Ee Mukham

Mangalyam Thanthunanena is her first feature film. It is written by Tony Madathil. The film’s female lead is played by Nimisha Sajayan who shot to fame with her first film Thondi Muthalum Driksakshiyum. Other artistes including Hareesh Perumanna, Shantikrishna, Vijayaraghavan, Alencier Ley Lopez, Leona Lishoy, Salim Kumar, Chempil Ashokan, Rony David and Soubin Shahir will be seen in supporting roles. 

Bankrolled by Allwyn Antony, Zachariah Thomas, Prince Paul and Angelena Mary Antony, its distribution rights have been bagged by UGM Entertainment. 

Kunchacko Boban began this year on a positive note with his film Diwanjimoola Grand Prix. He then went on to star in movies such as Shikkari Shambhu, Kuttanadan Marpappa and Panchavarnathatha, which were all hits at the box office. The star’s other films in the pipeline include Johny Johny Yes Appa, directed by Marthandan and the untitled Lal Jose-Sindhuraj film besides Allu Ramendran
