After the phenomenal success of Theri and Mersal, Vijay and Atlee, according to the industry grapevine are set to join hands for the third time. Currently busy shooting for AR Murugadoss’s Sarkar, Vijay is expected to reunite with Atlee for his next project, currently dubbed as Thalapathy 63.

The latest update is actress Kiara Advani, last seen in Mahesh Babu’s Bharat Ane Nenu, is mostly set to make her Tamil debut with this project. Apparently, the makers are in talks with Kiara and are very interested to bring her on board. However, neither the makers nor Kiara have reacted to the rumours which have been doing the rounds from the beginning of this week.

There are also reports that AR Rahman might once again be signed for the project. If he comes on board, it’ll be his third consecutive outing with Vijay after Mersal and Sarkar. The yet-untitled project is said to be bankrolled by AGS Entertainment and an official announcement is expected to be made in a month or two.

Meanwhile, Vijay will wrap up his portion on Sarkar, in which he’s rumoured to be playing a US-returned character who vows to bring about change in his society. Veteran actor Radha Ravi is tipped to be playing the antagonist in the film.

Keerthy Suresh has rejoined hands with Vijay after last year’s Bairavaa. The film also stars Varalaxmi Sarath Kumar, Prem Kumar and Yogi Babu.

Sarkar is gearing up for Diwali release. Girish Gangadharan, the young lensman whose recent work includes Kali and Solo, is cranking the camera. National award-winning editor Sreekar Prasad, who has worked with Murugadoss in projects such as Thuppakki and Spyder, is also part of the film.

All eyes are on Thalapathy 62 as the combination of Vijay and Murugadoss has set the bar very high. Two of Vijay's best films in recent years have come from Murugadoss and it naturally has built high anticipation around their next project.
