In view of heavy rains lashing Kerala, several trains have been cancelled and partially cancelled. The Southern Railway announced the change in train pattern on Saturday.
While 15 trains have been cancelled, eight trains have been partially cancelled. Several trains originating from Kannur, Kozhikode, Palakkad, Thrissur, Thiruvananthapuram and Mangalore have been affected.
Currently, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red warning with ‘heavy to very heavy rainfall’ in eight districts of Kerala: Eranakulam, Idukki, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasargode. Districts such as Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha and Kottayam, too, will receive heavy to very heavy rainfall on August 10, said IMD.
