Nazriya Nazim, a popular Malayalam film actress, has become the latest target for internet trolls on social media after her most recent photos, in which she seems to have put on weight, that surfaced on WhatsApp.

Nazim's pictures doing the rounds on WhatsApp, however, have not been uploaded on her Facebook page and it is not clear as to how the pictures found their way to the messaging service.

Though the trolling began a week ago, it still continues. People have been randomly commenting on photographs she has recently posted on Facebook, rebuking her for gaining weight.

Some of the comments (translated from Malayalam) that have been flooding Nazim's Facebook page read:

"She is posting old photographs of herself to prove that she hasn't put on any weight now."

"You new look resembles a fully blown balloon"

"You look like an old aunty... ugly and fat"

Her colleague, actress Rima Kallingal, recently came to her defence slamming all the fat shaming comments, saying that what matters is her talent as an actor and not her looks.

Kallingal published a picture of Nazim on her Facebook wall along with a note in the latter's support.

Her post reads: 'She was a happy, talented and wonderful human being and artist before marriage and after her marriage! That is all that matters! NOT how she looks!

Love to you! Waiting to see you back on screen!'
