In a big achievement, four government day schools and three government residential schools from Kerala have made it to the respective top 10 lists in the Educational World India School Rankings for 2019-20.

Government Vocational Higher Secondary School for Girls Nadakkavu, Kozhikode has secured second place in the Government Day Schools ranking list. The school had ranked third in the list in 2018, and has consistently done well in the rankings since 2013. GVHSS has set a model in the public sector education in the state and has been one of the most sought after schools in Kozhikode.

Kendriya Vidyalaya of Pattom in Thiruvananthapuram has been ranked in the fourth position in the same list. The school had secured fourth rank last year as well while it was the topper in 2016 and 2017 rankings.

Kendriya Vidyalaya Keltron Nagar Kannur and Kendriya Vidyalaya Puranattukara Thrissur secured ninth and tenth place respectively in the Government Day Schools list. 

In 2018 Kendriya Vidyalaya in Thrissur took the tenth position and that in Kannur had been ranked at the 11th position.

Meanwhile Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Chennithala, Alappuzha which had been ranked first in the survey last year, got third position in the Top 10 Government Boarding Schools category. Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya at Chendaya in Kannur got the fifth position in the category while Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Neriamangalam Ernakulam retained its seventh position from the previous year.

In the International Day School category, Sadhbhavana World School Kozhikode retained the tenth position.

Rajkiya Pratibha Vikas Vidyalaya in New Delhi and Kendriya Vidyalaya, IIT Madras, Chennai topped the list with total scores of 1078 and 1061, respectively. 

The survey assessed parameters such as infrastructure, completeness of faculty, academic reputation, safety and hygiene among the total 14 parameters.
