In an effort to help normalise the lives of the flood-affected people in Kerala, several organisations are offering a helping hand with free services. From electronics to flight services, companies have mobilised volunteers and experts to reach out to people in need.
Panasonic’s HR and Customer Care department’s free service camp called ‘Anchor Care’ has deployed over 100 electricians on the ground to offer services in problems related to electricity and power failures.
“Volunteers from Anchor by Panasonic have reached out to some of the worst affected areas and are working round the clock to provide help in the form of rectifying switches, switchgears, fans, lighting, wires and cables and other electrical appliances,” Anchor Electricals Pvt. Ltd. said in a press release.

Chinese electronics giant Huawei, too, announced free repair services for Huawei and Honor smartphones that were damaged in the floods.

The company has activated technical teams in all operational authorised and exclusive service centres in Kerala. "We have deployed our customer service team in full action to support customers affected by Kerala floods. We will be providing free of cost service to Huawei smartphones damaged due to waterlogging," said Allen Wang, Director, Product Centre, Huawei Consumer Business Group, India, in a statement.
The free repair services will continue till August 31.
Pune-based KBL Pumps is conducting free pump servicing camps in waterlogged areas. Their service engineers are repairing pumps in such regions. The company has also contributed three large auto prime pumps for dewatering.

Ashok Leyland is providing free service camp to restore generators affected by the floods. People can contact their nearest authorised Ashok Leyland Service Dealer for a waiver on labour charges and discount on spare parts.

Brands such as Samsung and Preethi are providing free labour services and discounts on some products and services.
Vistara airline will provide free flight services to doctors, nurses, disaster management experts and skilled volunteers from accredited institutions and relief organisations, from Delhi and Chennai to Thiruvananthapuram.

The airline, in a tweet, also said it will "fly them back at the conclusion of their missions" and that it will “accommodate such requests on a first come, first serve basis.”
