A Kerala BJP leader has been attacked by RSS workers in Ernakulam on Sunday. BJP’s State Council member Vennala Sajeevan who got his leg fractured has been admitted to a private hospital.

Police have arrested four RSS workers who broke into the house and assaulted Sajeevan.

The arrested include Laljeevan (34), the mukhya karyavahak of RSS in Thrikkakara constituency, and RSS workers Vysakh (25), Sarath (25) and Rejish (28).

They allegedly broke into Sajeevan’s house and attacked him using iron rods.

Police rule out political reasons behind the attack.

As per reports, a clash between Sajeevan and one of the relatives of an RSS worker led to the attack. It was also reported that Sajeevan had given a statement against a few RSS men in a police case.

Police have charged Sections 452 (house-trespass) and 326 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons) of IPC on the arrested.

The attack took place after the RSS workers attended a celebration program of RSS’s 50th anniversary. Sajeevan was also a former RSS worker.

"As per initial probe, it is the personal feud between Sajeevan and RSS workers which led to the attack. We will probe whether there is any conspiracy behind the attack," assistant commissioner of police K Laljy told The Times of India.

In January this year, an RSS worker, Vishnu S, had complained that Sangh workers kidnapped, confined and tortured him for over a month for giving a statement to police about the involvement of an RSS worker in a murder case. He had even alleged that senior RSS workers in the state had forced him to write a suicide note and kill himself. He was allegedly confined at an RSS office in Thiruvananthapuram for one month
