Keerthy Suresh is one of the busiest heroines right now juggling her acting assignments between different film industries. According to reports, the award-winning actor was in the fray to play the female lead in the remake of a Korean movie but she had to turn down the offer due to date issues.

Apparently, it is a film that deals with drugs and mafia and has a performance-oriented role for the heroine. The filmmakers were keen on roping in Keerthy Suresh for the role as they felt she would do complete justice. However, with the actor turning down the offer, it needs to be seen who would take it up. Interestingly, the remake will be produced by Rana Daggubati under his home banner.

Meanwhile, Keerthy will be making her Bollywood debut with Maidaan. She is paired opposite Ajay Devgn in this film which is directed by Amit Sharma. The film is bankrolled jointly by Boney Kapoor, Akash Chawla and Arunava Joy Sengupta under their respective banners. The shooting of Maidaan began last month and is progressing well.

Keerthy was recently roped in for director Karthik Subbaraj's untitled Tamil production venture which would be helmed by Eashvar Karthic and sources say she agreed to do the female-centric thriller as it portrays her in a different light with an intense role.

Besides the untitled Tamil film and Maidaan, Keerthy has Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham, a Malayalam magnum opus in which she shares the screen space with Mohanlal. The film is directed by the award-winning director Priyadarshan.

Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham, made on a budget of Rs 100 crores, is produced jointly by Antony Perumbavoor, Santhosh T Kuruvilla and CJ Roy under their respective banners Aashirvad Cinemas, Confident Group and Moonshot Entertainment.

The film is based on the true-life of Kunjali Marakkar IV, who is the most popular of the Marakkars. The film’s technical crew includes cinematographer Tirru and editor MS Ayyappan Nair. There are also reports that Keerthy may be debuting in Sandalwood with the Sri Murali starrer Madagaja but there is no official confirmation on this yet.
