The News Minute | December 12, 2014 | 8:00 am IST Chief Minister of Telangana K. Chandrasekhar Rao laid the foundation stones for a Banjara Bhavan and Kumaram Bheem Adivasi Bhavan in Hyderabad midst much fan fare on Thursday. In what seems like an attempt to get into the good books of the tribals, KCR also added that all tribal hamlets would be connected with roads within one year. According to a report in The Hindu, KCR also added that he would induct a tribal person in the next cabinet expansion to handle tribal welfare. He also claimed that a 500-strong Task Force would be formed comprising of medical experts to tour the tribal habitations in the nine districts. However the most applause and cheer was received when he announced that every tribal woman would be given three acres of land along with a borewell and a motor for tilling the land for the first crop. He also added that a high-level committee would be set up with a sitting High Court Judge to look into the modalities for 12 per cent reservation for the STs.
