Nagarjuna’s comment that he felt jealous watching Karthi and Tammannah dance right in front of him while he couldn’t shake a leg with them as he plays an incapacitated billionaire in Oopiri during an event has prompted the actress to reply that she would do it in the sequel. Karthi plays a male nurse in the film who takes care of Nag.
However, Tammannah was quick enough to add that there are no plans for the sequel yet and she had mentioned it jocularly.
Directed by Vamsi Paidapally, Oopiri and its Tamil version titled, Thozha is the remake of the French film, The Intouchables. Anushka Shetty and Shriya Saran will be seen in cameo appearances in the film. While Ali is the comedian in Oopiri, it is Vivek in the Tamil version. It is a lighthearted comedy entertainer in which Nagarjuna is seen as a wheelchair bound paraplegic and Karthi as his assistant.
Oopiri is slotted for release on March 25th worldwide along with its Tamil version. The Oopiri trailer, within five days of its release, has crossed one million views mark on YouTube. Gopi Sunder has composed music for this film with PS Vinod cranking the camera. Madhu has edited the Telugu version, Oopiri and Praveen KL has edited the Tamil version.
With this film being Karthi’s first direct Telugu film and Vamsi’s maiden Tamil directorial, there is a lot at stake for both of them!
