The American state of Kansas is facing a $200 million budget shortfall, and the state government has resorted to fill this gap by auctioning sex toys.

Kansas City Star, a newspaper based out of the state says that in order to bridge the blow that the state received due to tax cuts, it will now auction sex toys that they once seized from an adult retail chain – Bang Sex Stores for not paying taxes.

Fox News reports that Larry Minkoff, the owner of Bang Sex Stores has been returned all the confiscated stuff by the government, under the condition that he will auction those to pay off his debts. Reports say that Minkoff’s state tax debts amount to $163,986. The auction which is being held now features more than 400 different types of sex toys and other items like lingerie, DVDs etc. The auction ends on September 29.

However the Governor of the state, Sam Brownback, a Republican is now being targeted by his critics for this unconventional method of tax collection. According to reports, a politician even commented that the Governor is so desperate to fill the hole in the budget that “Kansas is now in porn business”.
