The newest Upendra movie, I Love You, is all set to hit the screens on February 14, Valentines day. The release date is said to be an attempt to emphasise on the theme of the movie, romance. The Kannada movie stars Upendra and Rachita Ram as the lead pair and is produced and directed by Chandru.

The bilingual movie to be released in Kannada and Telugu was launched on May 21 amidst much fanfare. Apart from Upendra and Rachita Ram, the movie also has actor Sonu Gowda in a pivotal role and a host of other supporting actors. Kiram Thotambyle has scored the music for the movie while Naveen Kumar has handled the camera.

Sources say that I Love You’s shooting is almost complete except for one song which will be shot in Dubai, for which the lead pair and the crew will be flying to the Middle East.

Preparations are on a full swing for a grand audio launch in Davangere, Karnataka on January 12.  People in the know say that the filmmakers of I Love You are planning to invite some of the top names in both the Kannada and Telugu film industries for the audio launch.

Upendra is one of the leading actors in Kannada film industry. His first movie was Anantana Avantara, which was released in 1989 in which he appeared in a cameo role. Apart from delivering hit movies in Kannada in his career, Upendra has also acted in a few Telugu movies. An accomplished actor and director, Upendra has won several awards in his long career, including Udaya Film Awards for Best Actor for the film A, Filmfare Award for Best Director – Kannada for the film Upendra, South Indian International Movie Awards for Best Actor for starring in Katari Veera Surasundarangi and so on. 

In 2017, Upendra announced his entry into politics but then decided to put it aside to complete pending assignments and sign new ones. Recently, he also announced a new project with director Shashank which is expected to go on floors in March.
