The Kannada superstar Shiva Rajkumar has a number of films lined up for release including Ravi Varma’s Rustum, Pramod Chakravarthy’s Drona, SRK directed by Lakki Gopal, and Kavacha directed by GVR Vasu. The Villain, in which Shiva Rajkumar shares screen space with Kiccha Sudeep, is also gearing up for release this year.

And now reports have it that the actor is likely to ink a deal with Kollywood director, M Muthaiah. The film, which has not yet been titled, will be bankrolled by KE Gnanavel Raja under his banner Studio Green. The talks for the venture are already on and an official announcement is on cards.

M Muthaiah began his career as a director with the 2013 release Kutti Puli, which had M Sasikumar and Lakshmi Menon as the lead pair. He then went on to direct films such as Komban, Marudu and Kodiveeran. The director is currently busy with the film Devarattam, for which he has roped in Manjima Mohan to play the lead role. After he is done with Devarattam, he will be foraying into the Kannada film industry with the Shiva Rajkumar starrer if things work out in his favour.

Shiva Rajkumar, in the meantime, has signed two new projects – one with director Yograj Bhat and the other with Chandrashekar Bandiyappa. Reports from Kannada film industry are that acclaimed director P Vasu may soon direct a film with Shiva Rajkumar in the lead. Sources in the know say that actor – producer Dwarkish will be bankrolling the venture.

P Vasu has worked with both Shiva Rajkumar as well as Dwarkish earlier in Shiva Linga and Apthamitra respectively. Incidentally, Apthamitra, which had Vishnu Vardhan and Soundarya as the lead pair, was a smash hit and was screened in Bengaluru theatres for one year.
