Actor Kamal Hassan slipped and fell in his office in Chennai, resulting in a fracture on his leg, on Wednesday night.

According to TV reports, he has been admitted to Apollo hospital for a surgery. He is currently stable.

Sources close to the actor say that he has fractured his right leg.

Hassan was scheduled to attend the London Indian Film Festival (LIFF) this weekend, where he was supposed to be honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award. However, following the accident, his plans have been cancelled. The festival will also be screening his critically-acclaimed film “Nayagan”.

His upcoming movies include "Vishwaroopam 2", a sequel to the spy thriller "Vishwaroopam". 

Kamal Hassan's next, "Sabaash Naidu" is a hilarious entertainer directed by TK Rajeev Pillai and bankrolled by Lyca Productions in association with Raaj Kamal International. "Sabash Naidu" is a trilingual being made in Hindi-Tamil-Telugu.

The movie has been titled as “Sabaash Kundu” in Hindi. The movie was launched in April end and went on the floors recently.

Due to Tamil Nadu assembly elections, Kamal Hassan took a small break and resumed the shoot recently.

Most of the scenes will be shot in the US and the crew will be leaving soon while some scenes will be shot in India.  

Now, we hear that the makers have locked the release date and the movie will hit the screens worldwide on December 1, 2016.

Previously in 2014,  Kamal Haasan had been admitted to hospital in Chennai. The actor was rushed to Apollo Hospital with symptoms of food poisoning. He was discharged in a day or two.

He also suffers from Type 1 diabetes.
