Kamal Haasan, who is back as host of season 2 of the television reality show Bigg Boss, has said that he will wrap up the trilingual comedy Sabaash Naidu before proceeding with the Shankar directorial Indian 2.
In an interview with Indian Express, Kamal said, “Soon after this (Bigg Boss Tamil), I will resume work on Sabaash Naidu. Half of that film is complete. I will do Indian 2 after that. But for that Shankar has to first finish 2.0.”
Recently, the actor-director released the trailer of his much anticipated film Vishwaroopam 2 and it went viral. According to reports, the film is gearing up for release on August 10 worldwide. A sequel to Vishwaroopam, it has been in the making for quite a few years now owing to financial constraints.
The star’s yet another ambitious film, Sabaash Naidu, which went on the floors a couple of years ago but was put in cold storage for various reasons, is all set to be revived this year. Kamal completed the first schedule of the film simultaneously in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi in Los Angeles. But he fractured his leg after he slipped and fell from the stairs in his office, following which the movie was stalled.
Sabaash Naidu is a spinoff of the character Balram Naidu from the 2008 hit film Dasavatharam, which had Kamal playing 10 different characters. Both Sabaash Naidu as well as Vishwaroopam 2 will be released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi.
Indian 2, a Shankar directorial, was announced a few months ago much to the excitement of film buffs. The film is currently in the pre-production mode and is being planned as a 2020 release. The director is assembling his cast and crew for the magnum opus and is expected to make an official announcement soon. Meanwhile, he is gearing up for the release of the Rajinikanth starrer 2.0 in August this year.
