Kalidas Jayaram announced a few weeks ago that his debut film in Mollywood, Poomaram, would hit the marquee on March 9 but now it looks like the movie’s release is postponed again.

The film’s release, in fact, has been postponed several times earlier and movie buffs were hopeful that the team would keep up the release date this time for sure. But things did not work out favourably, forcing the filmmakers to postpone the release date.

Posting about it on a social networking site, Kalidas said that the film will not be released on March 9 as planned earlier due to some technical issues. The actor’s post in Malayalam reads: “Due to some technical problems, the release of Poomaram has been extended from March 9 to slightly later.”

Reports indicate that the makers of Poomaram are planning to release it later this month and are making all the arrangements for it. We can expect a fresh release date in a couple of days.

Written and directed by Abrid Shine, the film has Kalidas playing the lead role and Kunchacko Boban, Meera Jasmine and Manju Warrier in pivotal roles. The film’s music has been scored by Faisal Razi and Gireesh Kuttan, while S Gnanam has worked on its cinematography and Athul on editing. The film is produced by Paul Varghese and Abrid Shine under the banner Dr Paul’s Entertainment. The shooting of Poomaram began at Maharaja’s College, Ernakulam in September 2016 and was wrapped up in 2017.

Though Kalidas made his acting debut with the Malayalam movie Kochu Kochu Santhoshangal as a child artiste, Poomaram will be his first film as hero. While he is awaiting the film’s release, the youngster has inked a deal to star in an Alphonse Putheran directorial, which is currently in the pre-production mode.
