Jayaram and son Kalidas Jayaram had shared screen space in Kochu Kochu Santhoshangal and Ente Veedu Appuvinteyum, but then the latter was a child artiste in those films. Ever since his debut as hero with Poomaram, expectations among their fans rose about when they would be seen on screen together again. To this question, Kalidas replied in a recent interview with the Times of India, “We are both open to doing a movie together. But it has to meet a few criteria like a good team and good script, else it would serve no purpose.” This seems to indicate that the duo is on the lookout for a suitable script to work on together and may soon do so.

Meanwhile, Kalidas has completed shooting for the Jeethu Joseph directorial Mr and Mrs. Rowdy. He is now busy with the Santosh Sivan directorial which went on the floors just a few days ago. In the film, Kalidas shares screen space with veteran actor Manju Warrier. Also in the star cast of this flick are Soubin Shahir, Aju Varghese, Suraj Venjaramoodu and Ramesh Pisharody.

Besides the untitled film with Santosh Sivan, the young hero also has the Midhun Manuel Thomas directorial Argentina Fans Kattoorkadavu. It has Aishwarya Lekshmi playing the lead opposite Kalidas. Apart from this lead pair, the film will have a set of newbies in different roles.

Kalidas Jayaram, after the release of Poomaram, also went on to sign up a film with the noted director Alphonse Putheran. The project will be the director’s debut Tamil film, which has not been titled yet. It may be mentioned here that this project is the next directorial from Alphonse after the massive success of Premam that released in 2015. Kalidas’ career graph is certainly moving upwards, going by the number of projects in his kitty.
