One of the most anticipated biopics in the Telugu film industry is the one on the late Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and film star, Nandamuri Tarak Rama Rao, more popularly known as NTR.

The film will be directed by Teja, who has reportedly done a lot of research to get interesting and genuine information about the legend’s life. While movie buffs have been waiting eagerly to know more about the star cast, an interesting info has cropped up. Kajal Aggarwal had been signed up for a role in the biopic, which made fans wonder what role she would be playing.

Latest reports say that Kajal will be playing the late chief minister of Tamil Nadu and actor, J Jayalalitha. Both NTR and Jayalalitha shared screen space in several movies such as Chikkadu Dorakadu, Alibaba 40 Dongalu and Gandikota Rahasyam, and had been political counterparts as well. Therefore, it is evident that Kajal will have a major role to play in the film. Touted to be N Balakrishna’s dream project, he will be bankrolling it along with Vishnu Vardhan Induri and Sai Korrapati.

According to reports doing the rounds, we hear that director Teja will begin shooting NTR’s early days, that is, even before he became an actor. In 1947, NTR joined a government job in Madras but quit within a month after he got an opportunity to act in BA Subba Rao’s Palletoori Pilla. The biopic will begin on that note and then proceed to narrate his meteoric rise as an actor and politician.

It may be mentioned here that the biopic was launched at a grand event held at the Ramakrishna Studios in Hyderabad. Among those who attended the event included the Vice President of India M Venkaiah Naidu, Raghavendra Rao, Boyapati Sreenu, Telangana minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav and others. During the event, the Vice President said, “I wanted to come here today, despite rules and restrictions. It is because personally I admire Sri Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao and the work he had done.”

The biopic is scheduled to release at Dusshera this year.
