Reports had surfaced a few months ago that actor Kajal Aggarwal will soon be floating her own production house. But the actor has now clarified that she has put those plans on hold as she is busy with her acting assignments. The actor has been quoted by the Cinema Express as saying, “Prashanth Varma pitched a storyline which impressed me a lot. I asked him to come with a bound script, but things did not seem as favourable as they were initially, and the project is not taking off. Right now, I have no interest in producing films. I am happy with my acting career and would like to continue doing good films.”

Kajal is expecting the release of Paris Paris, which is the Tamil remake of the hit Hindi flick Queen. Paris Paris is directed by Ramesh Aravind and produced by Manu Kumaran. Queen, which fetched Kangna Ranaut the coveted Nation Award for Best Acting, was also a big commercial success. The film was directed by Vikas Bahl, who was named in the Me Too movement for allegedly sexually assaulting a crew member from his production team. Queen starred Kangana Ranaut, Rajkummar Rao and Lisa Haydon in the lead roles. It was produced by Viacom 18 Motion Pictures in association with Anurag Kashyap, Vikramaditya Motwane and Madhu Mantena on a budget of Rs. 12.5 crores and it went on to collect Rs. 108 crores at the box office.

Kajal also has the Tamil magnum opus Indian 2 in which she will be sharing the screen space with Kamal Haasan. It is a Shankar directorial. Her last release in Telugu was Ranarangam, directed by Sudheer Varma. The film starred Sharwanand, Kajal Aggarwal and Kalyani Priyadarshan in the lead roles. Ranarangam was bankrolled by Suryadevara Naga Vamsi under the banner Sithara Entertainments. The technical crew included Divakar Mani for cinematography, Prashanth Pillai for music and Navin Nooli for editing.
