It has been reported earlier that director Jude Anthany Joseph will be making a film on the floods that ravaged the Kerala state recently. Titled 2403ft., the film comes with a tagline, “story of unexpected heroes” that could be a reference to the fishermen, defense personnel, police officers and the public who came together to rescue the fellow Malayalis, who were trapped in water.
The film will have a bevy of well known actors from the Malayalam film industry in pivotal roles. Sources in the know say that the director was inspired by several real life incidents that happened during the floods and he will be weaving it into a story. The film’s scripting is being done by Jude Anthany Joseph in association with John Manthrickal. The film will requires loads of computer graphics to capture the floods ravaging the state and the makers have decided to enlist the services of a leading VFX company to take care of it.
Besides a star studded cast, 2403ft. will have a talented technical crew as well. Shaan Rahman has been roped in to compose the music of the film with Jomon T John signed up to crank the camera and Mahesh Narayanan for editing. Sameera Saneesh will be designing the costumes for this film based on a natural calamity while Vishnu Govind and Sree Sankar will be the sound designers.
The film will be bankrolled by Anto Joseph under his banner Anto Joseph Film Company. On its progress, we hear that the script work is almost over and it will go on the floors early next year. Details about the actors roped in for the film are expected to be announced shortly.
Jude Anthany shot to fame with his very first film, Om Shanthi Oshana, which won Nazriya a state award for best actor. His second film Oru Muthassi Gadha centred on the story of a particularly difficult 65-year-old woman. In between, Jude would also occasionally turn to acting appearing in movies like Premam, Velipadinte Pusthakam, Oru Kuttanadan Blog and so on.
