National Award winning Malayalam actor Joju George is joining the sets of a Tamil film with Dhanush in the lead. The film, directed by Karthik Subburaj, is being shot in London. The project, which remains untitled, is being bankrolled under the banner S Sashikanth’s Y Not Studios.

Confirming Joju’s role in the film, the production house posted on its official Facebook page: “National Award-winning actor Joju George joins #YNOT18 team in London ! ‪Dhanush Karthik Subbaraj #SashikanthShivaji Chakravarthy Ramachandra #SanthoshNarayanan Aishwarya Lekshmi Reliance Entertainment AP International Nikil Murugan. ‪#D40.”

Another Malayalam actor, Aishwarya Lekshmi, plays the female lead in the film. Interestingly in another Dhanush starrer, Asuran, directed by Vetrimaaran, Mollywood star Manju Warrier plays the female lead.

Joju, who will be making his debut in Kollywood with th Dhanush starrer, has reached London and will begin shooting for his portions soon. He has a very meaty role to play in this gangster film. Joju received the National Award in 2019 under the Special Mention category for his performance in the film Joseph. Joju’s last release in Malayalam was Porinju Mariam Jose in which he played the lead, along with Chemban Vinod and Nyla Usha. The actor has been much lauded for his role as Porinju in the film set in 1980s Thrissur.

The Dhanush-Karthik Subburaj film will also feature Hollywood actor James Cosmo, well-known for starring in films like Braveheart, Troy, The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wadrobe and the TV series Game of Thrones, in a prominent role. Santhosh Narayanan is doing the music composition for this flick with Shreyaas Krishna cranking the camera and Vivek Harshan handling the editing.

It may be noted here that earlier there were rumours that this film is titled Suruli and more recently reports emerged that it is titled Ulagam Suttrum Vaaliban. However, both these reports remain unconfirmed.
