Basking in the success of his last film Kayamkulam Kochunni, director Rosshan Andrrews is back with his next. There are reports that his next film will have Joju George, Manju Warrier and Anusree playing the lead roles.

If everything goes as planned, the shooting for this yet-to-be-titled film will be commencing from the first week of September. Unni R is scripting the film. Rosshan and Unni R are also teaming up for the first time. Most of Rosshan’s films before this were scripted by brothers Bobby and Sanjay. His first film Udayananu Tharam was however written by actor-writer Sreenivasan and the 2009 film Ividam Swargamanu by James Albert.

The new film will be the second outing for Manju Warrier and Rosshan, who have previously worked together for Malayalam film How old are you, which was also the former’s comeback movie after a gap of 14 years. The film showed Manju Warrier as the mother of a teenager, who forgot about her own dreams after getting married and settled, and is reminded of it through a strange incident involving the President of India. It goes on to show how she goes back to her strong ways, bringing together people to convey the importance of organic farming.

The new film is said to be bankrolled by Gokulam Gopalan under the banner of Sri Gokulam Films, who also produced Rosshan's Kayamkulam Kochunni.

Kayamkulam Kochunni starring Nivin Pauly also had Mohanlal in an extended cameo as Ithikkara Pakki. The film was about the real-life legendary figure by the same name, a Robin Hood styled highwayman who lived in the early 19th century Kerala. It may be noted here that Kayamkulam Kochunni was the fastest in the Malayalam film industry to cross the Rs 50 crore mark. It had grossed Rs 70 crore on its 25-day run at the box office.
