With the BRD Medical College in UP’s Gorakhpur grabbing headlines yet again with the death of more than 60 children in the last three days, comes yet another distressing news, this time from Jodhpur in Rajasthan.

In the video which went viral on Wednesday, two doctors identified as Dr Ashok Nanival (gynaecologist) and Dr Mathura Lal Tak (anaesthetist) of Umaid Hospital can be seen abusing each other. What is shocking though is that all of this happens while the patient is lying on the operating table with her stomach cut open for delivery.

According to reports, the woman was undergoing an emergency C-section operation on Tuesday.

While one doctor is heard saying, “You stay within your limits,” the other is heard saying, “You will pay for this.”

“I recommended disciplinary action against the two to the government and formed an enquiry committee for further probe,” Dr Amilal Bhat, principal of the hospital told Hindustan Times.

According to reports, the newborn died of severe birth asphyxia. Both the doctors have been suspended and a probe is underway. However, what triggered the ugly spat is unclear.

“We are yet to ascertain if the newborn’s death was because of the spat. The cause of death is severe birth asphyxia,” Superintendent of the hospital, Ranjana Desai said.

Meanwhile, the Rajasthan High Court has sought a report on the matter by 2pm on Wednesday.

No FIR was registered as of Wednesday afternoon, reported News18.

Speaking to the channel, Dr Tak said, “"The other doctor was arguing with me while I was trying to administer anaesthesia on the child. I was trying to save its life. I have raised the issue with the principal."
