Students of Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT-M) took home 102 offers made by top companies in the first slot of the placement drive held on campus on Sunday. These offers include four international jobs and six offers from Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). 

According to a press release from IIT-M, the placement drive in the campus started on Sunday and 20 companies made 102 offers including four international offers to its students in the first session. Microsoft, Goldman Sachs, Qualcomm and Boston Consulting Group were the companies that recruited the most in the first slot from the Chennai campus. The current phase of recruitment will be on till December 8, 2019 as per the Institute. Microsoft made 20 offers and Goldman Sachs made 11 offers to students in the first slot. This was followed by Qualcomm and BCG, which recruited nine and seven students to its profiles. The four international placements were offered by Cohesity, Microsoft, Salesforce and Uber. Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) employed six students to strengthen its workforce.

In the second slot, 30 companies including Samsung Semiconductors, Jaguar and Bajaj Auto participated, looking for candidates to work in 42 profiles. 

This year 1,334 students have registered for the campus placements in IIT-M. 

Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad also flagged off its placement season on Sunday where 53 job offers were given to students across streams. This includes six international postings by companies like TSMC, SMS DataTech and NTT-AT. 

Microsoft led the round of recruitment, handing out 17 offer letters to students, including five offers for female students. Goldman Sachs also offered jobs to two girl students out of the three new additions to its workforce from IIT, Hyderabad. IIT-Hyderabad also received 37 pre-placement offers (PPOs) this year to its students, including two international job offers.  

The second phase of recruitment at IIT, Hyderabad will take place in April 2020.
