The shooting of the Jayasurya starrer Aadu 2 commenced in Thodupuzha on September 13. Being the sequel to Aadu, the film will have Jayasurya essay the lead role of Shaji Pappan once again. Reports say that the film’s official pooja happened on September 12 and the team went ahead with the shooting the very next day.
Speaking about Aadu 2’s muhurat, its director Midhun Manuel Thomas told the Times of India, “It was a simple function where just the producer Vijay Babu and family, our crew members and I participated.” Adding more about the film, the director said, “There will be a lot of action sequences as Shaji Pappan will be cured of his backache in the sequel and is all set for stunts and fights!”
It may be recalled that the goat Pinky had played a pivotal role in Aadu and this has raised the speculation if she would be a part of the sequel. When asked about this, the director pointed out that the goat will not be seen in the film as she had given birth to a calf recently.
Reports indicate that the film is slated to hit the silver screens on Christmas this year and the team is working towards this deadline. It has been reported that the Aadu 2 team has ensured that the film retains all the interesting aspects of the prequel so that the audiences make it a smash hit. The film crew states that the sequel will deal with another episode in Shaji Pappan’s life.
Aadu, a comedy road movie, was written and directed by comedy by Midhun Manuel Thomas and produced by Vijay Babu and Sandra Thomas under the banner Friday Film House.
