Director Kannan Thamarakkulam and actor Jayaram will be working on their fourth film together.  Incidentally, Kannan has directed five films so far of which three have Jayaram in the lead.

Reports are that the new venture is titled Pattabhiraman with Thiruvananthapuram as its backdrop. Also, this film will be a multi-starrer.

Speaking to the Times of India about Jayaram’s character in Pattabhiraman, the director said, “He plays a government employee. The story starts with him buying a plot in the capital city and arriving there to settle down. His journey and struggles complete the film, which will also reveal some shocking truths about how contemporary politics also has a commercial side to it.”

According to the director, the film will have all the elements to attract the audience and it will be laced with humour.

Besides Jayaram, it will also have Baiju Santosh in a crucial role. There are four heroines in Pattabhiraman and they are Miya George, Shamna Kasim, Parvathy Nambiar and Sheelu Abraham. Ramesh Pisharody and Dharmajan Bolgatty also play pivotal roles.  On the film’s progress, sources say that the shooting will commence this month in Thiruvananthapuram after which the team will move over to places like Munnar and Tirunelveli.

Meanwhile, Jayaram is busy with two other films - Grandfather and Marconi Mathayi. The shooting of both these films are underway and will be hitting the marquee this year. Grandfather, directed by Aneesh Anvar, is reported to be a fun entertainer and would be a Vishu release. Marconi Mathayi  is a bilingual that will be made in Tamil and Malayalam, and will see Vijay Sethupathi’s debut in Mollywood.

Jayaram has also signed a Tamil film Party, which is set to go on the floors later this year. His last release was Lonappante Mamodeesa, which hit the marquee on February 1st.
