Veteran actor Jayaram has been selecting his films very meticulously off late. The star has been keen on choosing performance-oriented roles and has signed up to work in the Malayalam film Lonappante Mamodisa.  

According to reports about this film, it is a family entertainer that will have Jayaram playing the main lead as a middle-aged bachelor taking care of his large family comprising three sisters. He gets a marriage proposal and what ensues further is told hilariously. 

Set in a village backdrop, Lonappante Mamodisa will have in its cast actors Kaniha, Anna Rajan, Hareesh Kanaran and Innocent in pivotal roles with Shanthi Krishna, Nisha Sarang and Eva Pavithran roped in to play Jayaram’s sisters. 

Ever since he made his debut through the Padmarajan film Aparan 30 years ago, Jayaram has been active in the industry, not just in Malayalam but also noticed for his work in other languages such as Tamil and Telugu. His last release, Panchavarnathatha, in Malayalam, has been a success. Released in April this year, the film was directed by comedian Ramesh Pisharody and produced by Maniyanpilla Raju under the banner Maniyanpilla Raju Productions. According to trade reports, Panchavarnathatha had fetched its makers about Rs 11 crore within 12 days of its release. This naturally speaks about the film’s box office success, especially at a time when the star needed it the most. 

With this, Jayaram’s career is taking an upward swing with several offers pouring his way. According to the latest reports doing rounds, he has inked a deal to star in a Tamil film that will have Udhayanidhi Stalin in the lead role. We hear that Jayaram will be playing the hero’s dad in it and he has a meaty role. We also hear that it will be directed by Enoc Able, who was an associate of director Atlee.
