Deepak has said that to make a series or a film on his aunt's personal life, the director will have to get his and his sister Deepa's consent first.

Director Gautham Menon had announced that he is making a web series on the late Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, J Jayalalithaa titled Queen. Recently, he released the first look of this web series creating curiosity among the netizens. Seasoned actor Ramya Krishnan will be seen playing Jayalalithaa in this web series.

Reacting to this news, Jayalalitha’s nephew Deepak has come down heavily on the director for making the web series. He had reportedly questioned the director on what grounds he is making the web series when he is not aware of anything about the legendary leader. Deepak has told Deccan Chronicle that he has no problem if the filmmaker has portrayed her political life but should have received his and Deepa's consent if he was going to portray her private life.

"Amma (Jayalalithaa) is a political personality and her public life is a known history. I have no objection if he has portrayed her political life. However, no one has any right to portray her private life without taking proper consent from me and my sister Deepa. If he has represented anything personal about my aunt, I would not allow this and would file defamation case in the event of Queen going ahead without our permission. I am not able to reach Gautham Menon and hope to hear from him soon," he has been quoted saying.

Interestingly, there are two film directors, AL Vijay and A Priyadarshini, are making a biopic on the late Chief Minister and both these films are currently being filmed. Deepak has allegedly given his consent for AL Vijay's film.

Queen web series first season will have 11 episodes is set to premiere on the streaming platform MX Player. The web-series has been co-directed by Prasath Murugesan of Kidari fame and written by Gautham Menon's partner Reshma Ghatala.

Director Priyadarshini is making the biopic titled The Iron Lady. Priyadarshini is an erstwhile associate of director Mysskin and will be wielding the megaphone for the first time for a feature film. The title logo of this biopic was unveiled by noted director and producer AR Murugadoss on his Twitter handle. The Iron Lady is bankrolled by Paper Tale Pictures. Nithya Menen will be playing the legendary leader in The Iron Lady. The film will concentrate on J Jayalalitha’s political journey and the challenges she underwent during her tenures as the CM.

There is another biopic also in the making. Director AL Vijay is wielding the megaphone for this venture with the Bollywood actor Kangna Ranaut playing the lead role. On this film, the director had said that it will portray the life of a strong woman who comes up and makes a mark in a male-dominated society. Kangna is putting in a lot of effort to get into the skin of the character she plays. The actor has put on weight and is also attending Tamil and Bharatanatyam classes, the director had said earlier.
