1.       Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa has directed her cadres to stop protests against TNCC head EVKS Elangovan for his allegedly derogatory statements over her meeting with PM Modi. In a statement, she told cadres not to continue their agitation against him.

2.       Tamil Nadu has come out first amongst all states in admitting the maximum number of minorities to different technical/professional courses in the previous academic year. According to New Indian Express, almost one sixth of all minorities were taken in by TN.

The lady had fractured her spine while attempting suicide, however two hospitals turned down her admission after learning about her mental condition.

4.       Police have cracked the recent murder case of a PG medical student in Chennai with the arrest of a 22 year old BTech graduate. The accused had entered the house to steal the woman’s mobile phone. When she woke up and started screaming, he stabbed her.

5.       A district judge led probe has determined that at least seven persons were assaulted in custody in the aftermath of the anti-liquor protests. According to Times of India, the detainees had been beaten up at the police station and the place of protest with plastic pipes. The findings have been reported to the Madras HC.
