This Sankaranthi, film buffs are in for a special treat as three movies are set to be premiered on the small screen. The fight for the TRPs has reached a feverish pitch with the Jr NTR starrer Jai Lava Kusa set to premiere on Gemini TV and Mahesh Babu’s SPYder on Zee Telugu. Along with them, the Sharwanand starrer Mahanubhavudu will also be making its premiere.

According to trade experts, the main clash would be between Jai Lava Kusa and SPYder. While Jai Lava Kusa will be premiered on January 13, a day ahead of Sankaranthi, the two other films will be telecast the next day.

Jai Lava Kusa, directed by KS Ravindra, stars NT Rama Rao Jr, Raashi Khanna and Nivetha Thomas in the leading roles. It is an action drama that has Jr NTR playing triple roles for the first time in his career. The film was produced by the hero’s brother and actor Kalyan Ram under his home banner NTR Arts.

SPYder, which has Mahesh Babu and Rakul Preet Singh as the lead pair, has been directed by AR Murugadoss. It is a spy thriller that has Mahesh Babu playing an intelligence officer. SPYder was produced by NV Prasad and Tagore Madhu under the banner NVR Cinemas LLP. Well-known actor-filmmaker SJ Suryah is playing the antagonist, while 'Kadhal' Bharath played an important role in the movie, which has music composed by Harris Jayaraj. SPYder is a bilingual film that was released in Tamil as well as Telugu.

Mahanubhavudu, directed by Maruthi Dasari, stars Sharwanand and Mehreen Pirzada as the hero and heroine respectively. It is a romantic comedy that scored well at the box office. Produced by V Vamsi Krishna Reddy and Pramod under the banner UV Creations, the film went on to collect Rs 46 crore at the box office.
