Looks like Jagapathi Babu, one of the most wanted baddies in the south Indian film circuit, is not a part of Mahesh Babu’s Sarileru Neekevvaru anymore. He has been replaced by Prakash Raj, claim sources.

On losing the part, sources close to Jagapathi Babu said that he is thoroughly saddened about it and more so because neither the hero and co-producer, Mahesh Babu, nor the producer Dil Raju have communicated the reason to him directly. We also hear that Jagapathi Babu had foregone a couple of prestigious projects in Kannada and Tamil for Sarileru Neekevvaru but sadly it did not work out. It is still not clear why he was replaced at the last minute.

Directed by Anil Ravipudi, Rashmika Mandanna has been roped in to play the female lead in Sarileru Neekevvaru. The film will have two veteran actors, Ramya Krishnan and Vijayashanthi, in pivotal roles with Rajendra Prasad, Rao Ramesh and producer Bandla Ganesh in the star cast as well. While it is speculated that Vijayashanthi will be seen as the main villain in the film, there are also reports that she is playing the role of Mahesh Babu’s mother in the film.

Sarileru Neekevvaru is being bankrolled jointly by Anil Sunkara, Dil Raju and Mahesh Babu under the banner AK Entertainments, Sri Venkateswara Creations, GMB Entertainment. Devi Sri Prasad will be composing the music for this venture.

A leaked still from the film is doing the rounds on the internet and movie buffs are simply loving it. Mahesh Babu is seen sporting the army uniform, which indicates that he is playing an army officer in the film. While the star has played a cop in a couple of films such as Pokiri and Dookudu, this is the first time he will be seen as an army officer. The shooting of Sarileru Neekevvaru is currently in progress in Kashmir. The film is slated to be an early 2020 release.
