Having bid adieu to comic roles, actor Santhanam is busy choosing different characters to play leading roles. After playing a chef in upcoming comedy, Server Sundaram, he will be seen playing a cop in the acting-comedy, Oodi Odi Uzhaikanum, and it will be directed by Kanna Laddu Thinna Aasaiya fame Manikandan.
According to the director, although the film is an out-and-out comedy script, there are a few standout action moments in which Santhanam will shine in his khaki avatar.
Although Santhanam and Manikandan had originally planned on working on a different film, it was at the behest of their friend and scriptwriter Giri; they chose to work on this project. With the project slated to go on the floors from November 7, it features Amyra Dastur, last seen in Dhanush’s Anegan, as the female lead. Actors such as Kovai Sarala, Naan Kadavul Rajendran, Anandhraj, Robo Shankar and Salim Ghosh among others have been roped in to provide comic relief.
While the dialogue portions will be shot in Chennai, the songs will be shot in exotic locations, and the makers are yet to zero in on a destination. Music director Ghibran, cinematographer Gopinath and editor Ramarao will be a part of the technical crew.
