It's over: Yogendra Yadav, Prashant Bhushan expelled from AAP

After days of squabbling, the Aam Aadmi Party expelled its founder leaders Yogendra Yadav and Prashant Bhushan from the party. The duo were suspended for their 'anti-party' activities, along with two other leaders Anand Kumar and Ajit Jha. The decision to expel the leaders was announced after a marathon meeting of the AAP's National Disciplinary Action Committee.PTI quoted AAP spokesman Deepak Vajpayee  saying, "Aam Aadmi Party expels Yogendra Yadav, Prashant Bhushan and two others for "anti-party" activities."The expulsions come at a time when the party has been hit by severe internal clashes, open letters, show cause notices and scathing replies, all of which have clearly exposed how divided the AAP stands. In a letter written in response to a show cause notice he recieved, Prashant Bhushan described the National Council meeting held in Delhi recently and said, "It became  obvious that the aggression of the MLA’s and bouncers who were not members of the NC and who were still invited by you for the meeting was with a clear plan that Arvind’s provocative speech would be the trigger for them to indulge in this hoodlumery and lumpenism which they did, and thus disrupt the meeting."He also defended their decision to call Kejrial & Co's actions as 'Stalinist purge'. "You say that I have defamed the party by comparing the purge of NE members and others including the Lokpal to a “Stalinist Purge”. What else would you call the action to suspend/remove virtually anyone prominent who was objecting to the manner of our removal from the NE. When you remove NE members and even a Lokpal for merely questioning the illegal and unjustifiable actions of the Convenor or those who are in control of the party, when you label every dissenter as a traitor and charge him with anti party activities, when you try to instill fear among members of the party for merely questioning the drift of the party away from its founding principles, it does remind one of a Stalinist purge where similar things were done."Read- 'Mockery made of inner party democracy': Full text of Prashant Bhushan's reply to AAP show cause notice
