The Supreme Court of Italy ruled in favor of an employee who was seeking reinstatement after being sacked by his employer for watching pornography during lunch hours.

It all started five years ago when employers, Fiat sacked the employee working in the Termini Imerese facility in Palmero. Initially, the local court had ruled in favor of the car company but the Palmero’s court of appeal overruled the order. The Court of Cassation upheld the order on Wednesday observing the employee hasn’t done anything wrong.

The court suggested that there were no evidence that the worker watched porn during work hours and was well entitled to “catching a glimpse”, as the employee claimed his habit to be.

While in India, on August 3, the Department of Telecommunication (DOT) ordered ISPs to block a total 857 websites as part of a blanket ban on pornography in an attempt to ban child pornography.
