Iran has failed to cooperate with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in clarifying two outstanding practical measures in its nuclear programme, the Vienna-based UN nuclear watchdog's latest report said Friday.

"Iran has not provided any explanations that enable the Agency to clarify the outstanding practical measures, namely, those relating to the initiation of high explosives and to neutron transport calculations," Xinhua reported.

Iran agreed in May to implement five practical measures by Aug 25 including the two concerning a long-stalled probe by IAEA into allegations that Iran may make efforts to develop atomic weapons secretly, so-called the possible military dimensions (PMD) of its nuclear plan.

Iran and IAEA held technical meetings in Tehran Oct 7 and Nov 2 to discuss the two outstanding practical measures.

Another technical meeting over the issue would take place as soon as possible, but not before Nov 24, a deadline set by Iran and the P5+1 group of Britain, China, France, Russia, the US plus Germany for a comprehensive deal on the controversial nuclear programme of the Islamic republic, the report said.
