Leading low-cost carrier, IndiGo on Friday announced that it is adding Tirupati on its network from January 7 with daily flights to Hyderabad and Bengaluru.

Tirupati will be connected by three daily non-stop flights to Hyderabad and double daily non-stop flights to Bengaluru, the airline said in a statement.

Apart from this, Tirupati will also be connected to many new cities on IndiGo's existing network of Airbus 320s and ATRs. IndiGo will connect the temple town to Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Dubai, Singapore among other cities via Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai and Mangaluru.

With over 950 daily flights connecting 47 destinations, these new flights will enable corporate and leisure travellers to experience IndiGo's on-time performance and hassle-free service, it said.

IndiGo's Chief Commercial Officer Sanjay Kumar said that they were looking at providing affordable fares on these flights.

In the last week of November, the airline said that it will operate eight additional flights across its network with effect from January 1, 2018.

The airline said it will operate new flights between Hyderabad-Jammu and Jaipur-Jammu amongst other routes. It will add new frequencies from Hyderabad to Varanasi and Jaipur.

"With increasing demand from regional sectors, we are pleased to announce the introduction of these new connections," Aditya Ghosh, President and Whole Time Director, IndiGo, said in a statement.

In the same month, the airline took delivery of its first turbo-prop ATR 72-600 aircraft.

"We are now one step closer to the launch of our turboprop operations by the end of this year. The teams have put in a lot of hard work in order to launch our regional operations within a relatively short period of time." Aditya Ghosh said at the time.

In October, data revealed that IndiGo led the aviation industry with the highest market share of 39.5%, followed by Jet Airways (15.2%), SpiceJet (13.1%), Air India (13.1%), and GoAir (8.8%).
