So The Times of India did something awesome recently, they wrote to PornHub asking for statistic specifically for India for the year 2015, and the porn giant seems to have shared the data of its India viewership trends with them. The results, whatever they were going to be, were to be fun. But who knew Chennai will be left with a red face?
Apparently, we love desi porn (is this porn nationalism then?), and Delhi is the topper in porn-watching. The site revealed that New Delhi tops in viewership with 39.2 per cent of porn traffic from India. The top search terms for smut in India are "Indian college girls", "Indian bhabhi," "Bengali" and "Indian aunty". Like Kolkatans, which is in fifth place countrywide for porn-watching, Delhiites average 9 minutes and 29 seconds per viewing session - 31 seconds longer than the national average.
Chennai is number two – 6% of porn being watched in India is from there. But here is the, well, downer.
Chennaites, despite being second in their appetite for porn, have the shortest viewing sessions, averaging 7 minutes and 52 seconds, which is shorter by a minute compared to the national average. Chennai shakes a lot, but can’t hold it in too long, apparently. The tools seem to require more work.
Mumbai was fourth in terms of traffic, while Kolkata ranked fifth.
In January this year, the website reported that India knocked Canada out of 3rd place with a one rank position gain in terms of traffic.
"We saw an increase in India’s traffic shares this year, which may account for the considerable 8 spot climb by the country’s number one babe Sunny Leone this year...India’s proportion went up from 26% in 2014 to 30% this year," the report added.
