Gurugram-based accelerator India Accelerator has kickstarted its first cohort. Six startups have been picked from over 150 applications from across the world. As per an Inc42 report, the chosen 6 will now be put through an accelerator program apart from receiving funding of between $20, 000 and $25, 000 each.
The six startups shortlisted for the accelerator programme are Kuants, EValk, Voko, Wish-a-Mitr, CabBazar and an ecommerce platform Square1.
India Accelerator is a member of the Global Accelerator Network (GAN). The accelerator program for these 6 startups will be run for a period of three months and even thereafter they can look up to India Accelerator to do handholding as long as the startup feels it needs their support.
The program itself is designed on the co-work and co-live strategy meaning a special kind of bonding will be created among all stakeholders which might come in good stead for all time to come. Besides India Accelerator there are other investors also who participate in the funding activities.
Meet the startups
Kuants: This is a fintech company promoted by Ayush Gangwar and is into developing algorithmic trading platform.
EValk: Launched only in 2017 and is an Ukraine based startup. They are developing a technology to help deaf people using translation of video to text.
Voko: This is an Indian startup and the business they are in, is online rental of consumer goods. Currently operating out of NCR they propose to expand their operations further.
Wish-a-Mitr (WAM): Indian startup trying to come up with innovating gifting ideas on an interactive model.
CabBazar: Operates a cab marketplace to facilitate customers evaluate and pick the best cabs on offer across cities. Both one-way and round trips can be booked through CabBazar.
Square1: New ecommerce outlets can make use of the template or launchpad offered by Square 1. Some of the basic functionalities of the online store you propose to start can be developed through them and put in place.
