It was recently announced that Veeram and Viswasam fame Siva will next direct superstar Rajinikanth in his next film, which is currently dubbed Thalaivar 168. Sun Pictures will bankroll the project which will go on the floors from November.
Just days after the official announcement, reports have emerged that D Imman has been signed as the film’s composer and this will be his second collaboration with Siva after Viswasam, which was a chartbuster album. Apparently, Siva has retained the same technical team from Viswasam for his next project which is tipped to be a rural-based action entertainer.
According to a Hindustan Times, reports about Rajinikanth teaming up with Siva first emerged when the latter visited the former at his residence in May. Siva was invited over to congratulate on the success of Ajith starrer Viswasam which Rajinikanth really liked.
“The speculations doing rounds regarding director Siva and Thalaivar meeting this morning are not true. The meeting was only to seek his blessing on the success of the former’s film Viswasam which released early this year,” Rajinikanth’s publicist had tweeted.
During the course of meeting, Rajinikanth appreciated Siva for making Viswasam and specially pointed out that he was really touched by the father-daughter relationship angle in the film. Viswasam starred Ajith and Nayanthara in the lead roles and the film went on to be a box-office hit.
Meanwhile, Rajinikanth currently awaits the release of AR Murugadoss directed Darbar, which also stars Nayanthara, Sunil Shetty, Pratiek Babbar, Nivetha Thomas and Yogi Babu in key roles. The film marks the return of Rajinikanth in the role of a cop after 25 years since he donned khaki in Pandian. Produced by Lyca Productions, the film has music by AR Rahman and is gearing up for release Pongal 2020.
