Biswajeet Banerjee| The News Minute| July 22, 2014| 10.00 pm IST As the rape and murder of a woman in Mohanlalganj has come under scanner, many questions are being raised over the police investigation./ A senior police officer involved with the probe said “he would never take any other probe if this investigation failed." "I will never take up any other investigation if Mohanlalganj crime investigation fails the test of trial," Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Lucknow range, Navneit Sikera said on his Facebook page. He updated this post on Monday, after the arrest of the accused Ram Sewak Yadav. Family members of the woman and opposition parties have demanded a CBI probe into the incident. The family members of the victim have questioned why police were not probing the role of Yadav's boss, despite being named by the woman's daughter. The 32-year-old widow was brutally murdered on July 16 night after she resisted an alleged rape bid. She is survived by two children - a daughter and a son. The brutality at the state-run school has made people to believe that it was the handiwork of more than two people. Even the outgoing Governor of Uttar Pradesh Dr Aziz Quereshi had raised questions over police probe and said one man cannot inflict lethal injuries, that too with “keys of motorcycle.”
